Step 1: Design
Every product starts as an idea. In the Design step, we turn your idea, whether it’s a detailed plan or a sketch on a napkin, into a SolidWorks 3D model and test prototypes you can hold in your hand.
What You Bring
Your idea in any form: a sketch, a photo, an existing part, or a description, plus what it needs to do and your budget.
What We Do
We talk it through with you, model it in SolidWorks, and 3D print test prototypes so you can see and handle it.
What You Get
SolidWorks 3D models and drawings, plus 3D-printed prototypes revised until you’re happy with the design.
What Happens
- Consultation: We talk through what the product needs to do, the key requirements, and your budget.
- Concept: We work through ideas together and settle on a direction.
- 3D models: We build the part in SolidWorks as a detailed 3D model with drawings. Dan is a Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA) and Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional (CSWP).
- 3D-printed prototypes: We print test prototypes so you can check size, shape, and fit.
- Revise and repeat: We update the model and reprint as needed until the design is ready for functional prototypes.
